Sneakerhead spotlight: Tuyen aka @typicaltuyen
Question 1: What’s in your current sneaker rotation?
Tuyen: Currently been loving my Sand 4’s, Spartan Green Dunks, and Grey New Balance 990v5’s.
Question 2: What's the last pair you UNDS'd?
Tuyen: Nike x Undefeated Militia Green Air Max 97’s
Question 3: What is your fave sneaker you currently own?
Tuyen: My fave sneaker would have to be the Sacai Vaporwaffle’s. I remember having to pee in the middle of the night and just browsing my socials and emails. All of a sudden I see an email from END saying “Congratulations...” I couldn’t believe it! I definitely did not expect to be able to cop, especially since it wasn’t released in the U.S. at the time.
Question 4: What is your must-have grail?
Tuyen: Nike Sean Wotherspoon Air Max 97’s. Unfortunately don’t have them in my collection just yet.
Question 5: What got you started in the sneaker game?
Tuyen: I was an athletic kid in middle and high school, so I wore all kinds of Nike running shoes, but never casually. My family and I grew up poor, but never felt like it thanks to my parents. I never asked for much except these particular Nike shoes. I remember I begged my mom for a pair of Nike dunks and she actually bought them for me. Bless her soul. I wore those pair to death.
I’ve always loved and preferred sneakers, but never grew my collection until a couple years back. To be honest, I couldn’t afford it. I didn’t think I even deserved it. But now with a stable income and being better at saving (lol), I’ve realized I work hard for my money and I get to choose how to spend it (wisely of course).
My first pair of Jordan 1’s were the Shadow’s and the rest is history. Here’s to growing my sneaker collection.
Question 6: What's something that most people don't know about you?
Tuyen: I’m left-handed!

Tuyen: Soon-to-be college graduate.
