Sneakerhead Spotlight: Andrew aka @ajo_7

Question 1: What’s in your current sneaker rotation?

Andrew: A little bit of everything but mostly runner collabs these days - Asics, Air Max, New Balance, Saucony. I’ll always credit RF and Concepts for bridging me from Jordanhead to sneakerhead.

Question 2: What's the last pair you UNDS'd?

Andrew: AM180 Ralph Steadman. The AM180 Ultramarine wasn’t my first hype shoe but it was the first hype marketing campaign that pulled me in as a kid. Had to grab this one as a throwback to those days.

Question 3: What is your fave sneaker you currently own?

Andrew: Asics RF GT-II Rose Gold. When I first started collecting Asics it was a shoe that always seemed unattainable. A positive in Asics hype dying down has been being able to catch up on all these releases I had no shot at early on.

Question 4: What is your must-have grail?

Andrew: AM1 Atmos Elephant. Last year I bought a pair for my girlfriend (not a sneakerhead) because I wanted her to have a grail that I don’t have myself. One day would love a pair of my own, but until then, the romantic in me loves enjoying them through her.

Question 5: What got you started in the sneaker game?

Andrew: The first pair I had to have was the orange Bo Jackson Nike Air Trainer SC (1990). When it dropped, wasn’t able to convince mom, but she finally caved and copped me a used pair from a neighbor. Been hooked ever since. That shoe will always remind me of my mom.

Question 6: What's something that most people don't know about you?

Andrew: Six months after graduating college I joined the Peace Corps and worked as an education development volunteer in Zambia for three years. Many, many life lessons learned. Zambia will always be my most special place 🇿🇲

Question 7 (optional): What do you do for a living?

Andrew: I work in professional sports.
