Sneakerhead Spotlight: Matt aka @djmattbain (Copy)
Question 1: What’s in your current sneaker rotation?
Matt: I try to not have a rotation actually, every day is a game time decision! Only thing I really care about is wearing something different than the day before. The last few days I have had on
-Nike Adapt BB 1.0
-Air Max 1 Anniversary Aqua
-Nike By You Dunk Low
-Yeezy 700 Wave Runner
-Reebok Big Hurt (90’s Tech Trainer)
-Reebok X1 Nano-Gym Shoe
Question 2: What’s the last pair you UNDS’d?
Matt: The last Pair I UNDS’d was the Lebron 8 v/2 Low Miami Nights, I have been waiting for those for too long to sit on
Question 3: What is your fave sneaker you currently own?
Matt: My Favorite Sneaker of all time is the Jordan 5 Fire Red Black Tongue, and I am lucky enough to own it
Question 4: What is your must-have grail?
Matt: I am not really hunting grails so much anymore, just trying to make sure my collection stays well rounded and is a reflection of my personal style. I got caught up too long in grabbing all of the releases and always going after my grails. If I was to name one big shoe I would still count as my grail, it would be the DB5
Question 5: What got you started in the sneaker game?
Matt: Money! Lol, honestly its true. I always wanted nice shoes when I was young, but my single Mom couldn’t afford them. I vividly remember seeing the Jordan 5’s on my 3rd grade playground, and that was the first time I ever NEEDED shoes. I wasn’t able to get them then, but as soon as I was able to have enough extra cash I started buying all the shoes I missed out on as a kid. I had always found a way to get kicks but hadn’t started a proper collection until about 2007 when the True Blue Spizikes released, that shoe came out right at a time when I finally had my finances in order and the nostalgia hit me like crazy. That shoe started my current collection, and I still have them!
Question 6: What’s something most people don’t know about you?
Matt: Outside of Shoes, I love classic Volkswagens, motorcycles, and generally anything with an engine
Question 7: (optional) What do you do for a living?
Matt: My Title is Director of Solutions Architecture, I am an Engineer in the Media and Broadcast Technology Industry.
