Sneakerhead spotlight: Kendell aka @SirDellRob

Question 1: What’s in your current sneaker rotation?

Kendell: I do not have a specific rotation but I am currently going through all my brand new shoes which include Reebok Club C Vintage 85’, Nike Blazer Mid Vintage 77’, Puma Future Rider Play On, Nike Air Max TN Plus to name a few. Once that is done, I rotate my current collection of 456 pairs.

Question 2: What's the last pair you UNDS'd?

Kendell: The last pair I UNDS’d were the Nike Air Terra Humara “photo blue”.

Question 3: What is your fave sneaker you currently own?

Kendell: My favorite pair of sneakers that I own is the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG black and white. The love of my life got a pair for herself and I bought a pair the next day to copy her when they released in 2014. She passed away from Colon Cancer in 2016 so they hold very high sentimental value to me.

Question 4: What is your must-have grail?

Kendell: Right now my must have grail is a pair of white/red or white/blue Air Jordan 17’s. I remember when they first came out and I thought they were absolutely amazing. The design was so sleek and futuristic but that suitcase packaging was mind-blowing to me. Even the little details like the musical notes added to its beauty for me.

Question 5: What got you started in the sneaker game?

Kendell: In 2003, I started designing AF1’s with bandanas to have more of a variety in sneakers. Wearing a size 13 back then was a real struggle but 2006 is when I began painting sneakers and it was over. The response to my designs got me addicted and I just started trying to better my designs from there to make people really stuck in awe.

Question 6: What's something that most people don't know about you?

Kendell: Most people do not know fashion is actually my second passion. Cars have always been primary in my life from young. According to my mother, I was able to tell you the manufacturer of a car at the age of 18 months.

Question 7 (optional): What do you do for a living?

Kendell: For a living, I am a civil investigator for the Legal Aid Society in NYC and a fashion/interior designer.
